Message from Fr Andrew

Father Ian asked me to pen a few words by way of Introduction so here goes.

I am Andrew and am married to Suzanne; we have a blended family of five children, all adult and living away from the family home at South Kirkby. We have three grandchildren; four dogs  (additional children) and a pond and tank full of fish.

I have worked all my life as a police officer and am currently a uniform Inspector working out of South Kirkby in West Yorkshire. Sue works within a local junior and infant school as a senior Admin officer.

I grew up in the Nottinghamshire /Derbyshire area and then moved to Yorkshire in the mid eighties I have been a Reader within the Church of England for some six years before training on the Northern Ordination Course for ordination.

I have many interests including collecting theology books and reading most of them, I love my garden and am getting to grips with sustaining a growing collection of orchids as well as keeping a greenhouse complete with vine.

I love steam trains and have a model railway that was started four years ago that might get some more development time dv.

Sue and I have a holiday home in Spain and spend our breaks there mainly

I have a role within the Police as Chaplain and advise the National Association on its training requirements

Can I take this opportunity to thank you for the warmth of the welcome you have given both of us and I look forward to working with Father Ian and you all

In Him

Fr Andrew
